Worcester Police Officer On Leave After Fight At Kids Soccer Game
A man involved in an altercation at a youth soccer game, facing assault charges, is reportedly a Worcester police office.

WORCESTER, MA - The Northborough Police Department is seeking charges against a West Boylston man, who the Telegram & Gazette has reported is a Worcester police officer, following an assault that took place at a children's soccer game.
On March around 6 p.m. officers responded to a fight on the field at Otis Street. They learned an altercation happened between a parent of a child who was playing and a coach on the other team.
The 36-year-old man involved was issued a summons to Westborough District Court and will face a charge of assault and battery.

Though the statement from the Northborough Police Department did not identify the defendant, the Telegram confirmed he is an active Worcester police officer. A spokesman for the department told the Telegram the unnamed 36-year-old West Boylston resident has since been placed on paid leave.
