WORCESTER, MA - Worcester has not received any communications from the Department of Justice (DOJ) about stopping negotiations.

Following an explosive report detailing alleged excessive violence, misconduct and more from the Worcester Police Department, there were concerns the incoming DOJ under President Donald Trump might halt negotiations.

"The municipality remains committed to the initiatives the administration proactively launched both prior to, and following, the report's release, taking recommendations from the racial equity audit and the DOJ report into consideration," said Tom Matthews, spokesperson for City Manager Eric Batista.
