Worcester Public Schools' Staff Sees Increased Sense Of Safety
Worcester Public Schools' staff had a high percentage of satisfaction in workplace safety and leadership opportunity.
WORCESTER, MA - According to the Worcester Public Schools' midyear survey, the staff feels safe, supported and welcomed in district schools and operational departments.
Despite large-scale budget reductions, the general pulse among teachers, custodians and other staffers remains generally positive.
"The data continue to reflect the continuous improvement work that our staff do each and every day to ensure a welcoming and save environment in our schools," Dr. Rachel Monárrez, the superintendent of Worcester Public Schools, said.

The 2025 midyear survey results show:
- When asked if the environment is safe and orderly, 85% of respondents said they agree to some extent.
- 93% agree to some extent that the school/work site is welcoming.
- Regarding potential growth, 90% agree that there are ample opportunities.
- 90% of respondents said they feel supported and respected.
"Our proactive approach of implementing restorative practices and climate and culture teams to support connectedness, along with increased safety training, is yielding a positive impact," Monárrez said.
