Power is unlikely to be restored until 2 p.m. on Friday, according to National Grid.

WORCESTER, MA — A school in the city has closed amid a power outage.

City View Discover School in Worcester announced it would be closed on Friday due to an ongoing power outage. The school said the power would likely not be restored until 2 p.m. on Friday, according to National Grid.

Worcester Public Schools was notified of the information shortly before 7 a.m., according to the school. However, all other schools in the district will be open.

More than 550 customers were affected by the outage, which began on Thursday night, according to National Grid's outage map.

It appears the outage affected the neighborhood just north of where Shrewsbury Street meets I-290. The school is located at 80 Prospect St.
