WORCESTER, MA — A Worcester elementary school has a new kind of garden for students to play in.
The percussion garden has opened at May Street School in Worcester. The outdoor play area features drums, bongos, a glockenspiel and other instruments.
The garden, which was installed in memory of the longtime paraprofessional Anna Torres, provides students with an additional outlet for expression. Torres served the school community for more than 25 years, as well as being a percussionist at her church.
