This Worcester School Was Named Top 50 In The U.S.

WORCESTER, MA — For the first time, LinkedIn released a ranking of the top schools in the U.S, and one local college made the list.

Worcester Polytechnic Institute took the 39th spot on the inaugural Top Colleges list. The professional social network created the list to identify 50 programs that best set alumni up for long-term success.

The ranking was built on LinkedIn data, such as career outcomes, job placement rates or advancement into senior-level positions.

The No. 1 school was Princeton University, but four other Massachusetts schools made the list:

• #4, Massachusetts Institute of Technology
• #6, Harvard University
• #15, Bentley University
• #16, Tufts University
