WORCESTER, MA - As part of an effort to find new evidence in unresolved homicides, the Worcester Police Department (WPD) posted a primer on a case from 2001.

On Feb. 10, 2001 Juan Carlos Gonzalez, 22, was found dead at 141 Chandler St. after a report of a shooting. Officers found a large crowd surrounding the body of Gonzalez. He was shot twice in the thigh and later pronounced dead after he was brought to a nearby hospital.

An ensuing investigation found that there was a house party at that address and a fight broke out. Multiple people fled the scene after gunshots were heard. The WPD is working with the Massachusetts State Police and District Attorney Joseph Early to spotlight these unresolved cases in the hopes new witnesses may come forward.
