Worcester Woman Charged After Stealing Car And Hitting Police Vehicle
A Worcester woman is facing numerous charges after she stole a vehicle, crashed into a police car and led officers on a chase.

WORCESTER, MA - The Worcester Police Department announced a woman was charged following a vehicle theft and subsequent crash into another police car.
Yesterday in the late afternoon, a woman called the police and told them her vehicle was stolen off Sterling Street after leaving it running to pick up a child. Officers identified the suspect as Omaira Torres, 43, of Worcester, and noticed her driving on Millbury Street a little less than an hour later.
When Torres noticed the police, she reversed the car and crashed into a police cruiser. A subsequent chase ensued down Millbury Street onto Harding Street into oncoming traffic. She finally stopped near the intersection of Harding Street and Quinsigamond Avenue. She was placed under arrest, officers deemed her license was suspended and the stolen vehicle was towed from the scene.

Torres was charged with Larceny of a Motor Vehicle, Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, Failure to Stop for the Police, Use of a Motor Vehicle (MV) without Authority, Operating a MV with a Suspended License, Disorderly Conduct, Disturbing the Peace and a One Way Violation.
