Gerry's Place Serving New Menu

The restaurant is open to the public Tuesday through Friday from 10:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Gerry’s Place, the Tri-County Regional Vocational Technical High School in-house, student-run restaurant, is now offering a new menu to patrons.

The restaurant is open to the public Tuesday through Friday from 10:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Gerry’s Place will be closed on Mondays, half days, any day when school is not in session and on days as announced.

The new menu features a seafood feuilletee appetizer, with shrimp and scallops sautéed and bathed in a rich dilled creamed sauce, served in a puff pastry shell. The featured salad is an antipasto of mixed greens topped with a variety of fresh and marinated vegetables, meats and cheeses served with red wine vinaigrette.

Entrée choices include baked scallop casserole, with tender sea scallops topped with a cracker stuffing; Hawaiian chicken, a skinless chicken breast dipped in coconut batter and deep fried, coated with teriyaki sauce and topped with ham and a slice of pineapple; and veal cordon bleu, with Swiss cheese and prosciutto ham rolled inside a veal leg cutlet, breaded, sautéed, baked, and served on a mushroom demi glaze. It is served with a choice of two sides of potato, pasta, salad or vegetable.

The low fat option is chicken chow mein, with chicken breast and a medley of oriental vegetables in a low fat broth served with scallion rice and fresh pineapple chunks. Chow mein noodles are available upon request. The low budget option is turkey croquettes, a mixture of ground turkey, celery and onions bound in a cream sauce, formed, breaded, and deep fried and topped with a savory turkey gravy and served with potato and vegetable. The deli choices are a Tex Mex chicken wrap, with breaded chicken tenders deep fried and rolled inside an herbed tortilla with pepper jack cheese, salsa, avocado slices and lettuce and served with a sour cream dip, or a roast beef club, with thinly sliced roast beef atop a three-decker sandwich on wheat toast, served with French fries and a pickle.
