The Massachusetts Division of Wildlife and Fisheries currently has openings for a Coldwater Fishery Resource Project Leader, Shooting Sports and Range Access Program Coordinator, Hunter Education Specialist, and Land Acquisition Field Agent. - Coldwater Fishery Resource Project Leader -- The Project Leader writes coldwater fishery resource management plans, analyzes fisheries and other aquatic resource data, develops recommendations and undertakes actions to identify, protect, maintain and restore coldwater fishery resources and their habitats.
- Shooting Sports and Range Access Program Coordinator -- The Shooting Sports and Range Access Program Coordinator develops and implements the Division’s Shooting Sports and Range Access program, while facilitating safe and responsible gun ownership.
- Hunter Education Specialist -- Under the supervision of the Hunter Education Program Administrator, the Hunter Education Specialist (Game Biologist I) schedules, plans and conducts Basic Hunter Education and other courses developed and administered by the Massachusetts Division Fisheries and Wildlife Hunter Education Program. The Hunter Educational Specialist assists: in curriculum design and developing educational materials and program content delivered at courses, and with the training and evaluation of volunteer instructor teams.
- Land Acquisition Field Agent -- The Department of Fish and Game (DFG) seeks a Land Acquisition Field Agent (Right of Way Agent III) to join its Land Protection Program team. Working in partnership with staff from DFG and the Division of Fisheries & Wildlife (DFW), the Field Agent identifies, prioritizes, and completes land acquisition projects to protect the most ecologically important habitats in the Connecticut Valley. The Field Agent is assigned to the Connecticut Valley Wildlife District Office, and cultivates relationships with landowners in the towns located in the District to support the Department’s land acquisition efforts. This position is one of five Land Acquisition Field Agents located in Wildlife Districts across Massachusetts, and reports to the DFG Director of Land Acquisition and Capital Planning.
- Stock Assessment Specialist The Stock Assessment Specialist (Aquatic Biologist III) conducts stock assessments and other biological research on marine species of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
