Police Identify RI Woman Killed In Wrentham Tractor-Trailer Crash

Police say 25-year-old Kerri Coppinger, of Woonsocket, Rhode Island, was pronounced dead at the scene.

WRENTHAM, MA — A woman was killed in a crash on Route 1 in Wrentham early Tuesday morning.

Kerri Coppinger, 25, of Woonsocket, Rhode Island, was driving on Route 1 south when police say her Ford Fusion crossed over into the wrong side of the road and hit a tractor-trailer going north just before 4 a.m.

Police pronounced her dead at the scene.

The truck driver wasn't hurt, but Wrentham police said he was "extremely shaken and attempted to assist at the scene."

Police shut down Route 1 in both directions between Thurston Street and the State Police barracks for over three hours.

The scene was clear by 7:15 a.m., but residual traffic delays remained for another hour or so.

No charges have been filed and an investigation remains underway.
