Plainville Board of Health to Hold Medical Reserve Corps Training

The Plainville Board of Health is having Bristol-Norfolk Medical Reserve Corps offer Introduction to MRC and MRC101 presentations Tuesday, Sept. 24, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Plainville Senior Center, 9 School St., lower level.

The first 15 minute presentation Intro to MRC will discuss what the Medical Reserve Corps is and how both medical and non-medical volunteers are needed to fill vital support positions to assist local public health.

If interested, individuals are welcome to stay for the "MRC101" immediately following. The training covers the importance of pre-registering and pre-credentialing volunteers for an emergency response in the community and describes the role of the MRC in public health initiatives and emergency preparedness programs throughout the year. Volunteers will learn the purpose, policies and training requirements of the Medical Reserve Corps. This training is mandatory for MRC volunteers to become fully credentialed.

These trainings are open to any interested individual. Contact Debbie Revelle, Plainville Board of Health, 508-695-3142 extension 16 or bnmrc@hotmail.com. Walk-ins are also welcome.
