Wrentham Town Hall Closes After HVAC Coil Bursts
The building has sustained significant water damage and is expected to be closed for several months.
WRENTHAM, MA — The Wrentham Town Hall was significantly damaged last weekend after an HVAC ceiling unit coil burst, said Town Administrator Kevin Sweet in a news release Tuesday.
Town staff discovered the damage Saturday morning and crews have been cleaning up, trying to determine the exact cause, and assessing the extent of the damage since the incident.
The water damaged rooms and hallways throughout the building, including the offices of the town administrator, assessor, accounting, and nurse, and parts of the building will remain closed for repairs for several months.

"Having closed Town Hall for the better part of the past year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Town officials are already familiar with working remotely and serving residents in this manner," said Sweet in a statement. "We are confident that we will continue to be able to provide a high level of service to all Wrentham residents despite the disruption this damage will cause."
The town hall will remain closed to the public until further notice, said Sweet. Conference spaces and the assessor's office have been temporarily relocated to the library and the town's insurance provider is working to procure office trailers by the end of next week.
