• Governor Healey Strengthens Support for Seasonal Communities to Support Housing Development and Lower Costs (mass.gov) — Yarmouth has been officially designated a Seasonal Community, making the town eligible for new state tools and grants to support year-round housing and infrastructure. The Healey administration’s Affordable Homes Act programs can help Yarmouth fund housing trusts, upgrade water and sewer systems, and encourage attainable homes for local workers. Town officials must still vote to accept the designation before accessing these benefits.
   

• Orleans Board of Assessors chair charged with trafficking fentanyl (capecodtimes.com) — Yarmouth police joined Orleans officers and federal agents in a search that led to serious drug charges against the now-former chair of the Orleans Board of Assessors. Investigators say they seized fentanyl and other drugs from her home, and she has resigned from the unpaid town role while awaiting a January court hearing.
