16 MI Beaches Are Under Contamination Advisories

MICHIGAN — More than a dozen Michigan beaches are closed or under a contamination advisory this weekend due to high bacteria levels.

The closures and advisories come amid great beach weather across Michigan where highs are expected to hit the upper 80s.

Here are the beaches that were under a contamination advisory as of Friday afternoon:

• Dumont Lake County Park Beach, Allegan County - Contamination Advisory
• Elm Point Beach, Charlevoix County - Contamination Advisory
• Emerald Lake Association - Lyster Road, Oakland County - Closed
• Sylvan Lake - Ferndale, Oakland County - Contamination Advisory
• Four Mile Beach, Chippewa County - Contamination Advisory
• Grove Street Beach, Oakland County - Closed
• Halls Lake, Isabella County - Contamination Advisory
• Henes Park, Menominee County - Closed
• Independence Lake County Park, Washtenaw County - Closed
• Lakeview Waterfront Park, Roscommon County - Contamination Advisory
• Newburgh and Sumac Pointes - Hines Park, Wayne County - Contamination Advisory
• Northport Bay Marina, Leelanau County - Contamination Advisory
• Seven Lakes State Park, Oakland County - Contamination Advisory
• St. Clair Shores Memorial Park Beach, Macomb County - Contamination Advisory
• Sunday Lake Beach, Gogebic County - Closed
