Bobcat Spotted Hanging Out On Fence At MI Prison

A bobcat was spotted hanging out at a Michigan prison​ Tuesday morning.

Staff at the Chippewa Correctional Facility​, which is located in the Upper Peninsula, shared a photo of the wild cat sitting on top of an exterior fence around the facility.

CHIPPEWA COUNTY, MI — A bobcat was spotted hanging out at a Michigan prison Tuesday morning.

Staff at the Chippewa Correctional Facility, which is located in the Upper Peninsula, shared a photo of the wild cat sitting on top of an exterior fence around the facility.

They said the bobcat hung out for about an hour before it jumped from the wired fence, ran around the perimeter of the facility and climbed up a maple tree.

He eventually jumped down and ran around the parking lot, where Michigan Department of Natural Resources workers were able to "corral him off grounds" and back into the forest.
