Elderly Man Dies After Interstate Crash: Police

The man suffered an apparent medical emergency before leaving the road, police said.

RILEY TOWNSHIP, MI — An elderly man died after suffering an apparent medical emergency on Interstate 69 in connection with a fatal weekend crash, according to state police.

Troopers responded to the single-vehicle incident around 1:30 p.m. Saturday on I-69 near Riley Center Road in Riley Township, police said. A 69-year-old Grand Blanc man became ill, left the interstate and hit a culvert in the median, according to police.

He was taken to a hospital but did not survive, police said. No other injuries were reported, according to police.
