MI Small Airport Voted Best In Nation

The best small airport in the nation is right here in Michigan, according to a new USA TODAY and 10Best ranking.

Gerald R. Ford International Airport, located in Cascade Township just outside Grand Rapids, received the most votes of a group of 20 finalists, earning the top ranking.

"Amenities include a dedicated Military Welcome Center, plane-themed playrooms for younger guests, a self-serve wine wall featuring local wineries, and more," USA Today said. "Craft beer fans can swing by Prospect Hill or Aletitude for a locally brewed IPA before boarding begins."

The ranking was determined by a panel of experts and then voted on by the public. Voting was open from Sept. 8 until Oct. 6 with the public being invited to cast one vote per person, per day.

"The community’s incredible support continues to propel our commitment to providing a world-class airport experience, and we are thrilled to have won this award for the community."
