Police ID Body Found Along Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore In MI

Investigators do not suspect any foul play.

MUNISING, MI — Officials have identified a body that was found earlier this month along Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore in the Upper Peninsula as a missing 65-year-old kayaker, according to Michigan State Police.

DNA analysis of the body determined it was John Kueber, who went missing on Sept. 29 when he went kayaking on Lake Superior at a site in Pictured Rocks, according to police.

Kueber was last heard from on Sept. 22, according to police.

"This is not the outcome any of us were hoping for," Michigan State Police Spokesman Lt. Ben Eckola said.
