Small MI Town Top Trending Winter Spot For 2025: LIST

MICHIGAN — A northern Michigan town is a top trending destination for winter 2025, according to HomeToGo.

Manistee, which is known for its beautiful beaches along Lake Michigan, is also becoming a top getaway for the winter months, according to the popular travel website.

Manistee cracked the top ten in the website's "delaycations" category, which 45 percent of survey respondents said they plan to take off-peak getaways to avoid crowds, high prices and heat waves.

The small town accounted for a 194 percent increase in searches for vacation rentals with a check-in date during fall or winter 2025 on HomeToGo between Jan. 1 and Sept. 14, 2024, compared to the same period the year before.

Some of Manistee's best winter tourism activities include fishing, paddling, skiing and snowboarding, hiking, fat-tiring biking, northern lights viewing and more.
