Snowy Thanksgiving Possible, Colder Temps: MI Weather

A developing storm system to our southwest could bring some wintry weather to southeastern Michigan by Thanksgiving, forecasters said.

SOUTHEAST MICHIGAN — Monday will be the warmest day of the week across southeastern Michigan before cooler temperatures and possibly some wintry weather move into the region by Thanksgiving, according to the National Weather Service.

Highs will reach the low 50s across southeastern Michigan on Monday with light rain showers, according to the weather service.

Some rain showers will linger into Tuesday morning across southeastern Michigan before afternoon highs fall into the upper 30s/low 40s with strong winds reaching up to 25 miles per hour, according to the weather service.

After that, local forecasters will be watching a strong storm system that's developing to our southwest and could bring some wintry weather to southeastern Michigan on Wednesday, according to the weather service.

If the storm stays to the south, it will likely miss southeastern Michigan. But if it shifts north, it can bring a snowy/wintry mix to the region starting Wednesday night and continuing through Thanksgiving Day, according to the weather service.

Chances for snow will stick around in southeastern Michigan on Friday and into the weekend as highs fall into the low 30s, according to the weather service.
