• Berkley man sentenced for sexually assaulting teen in Wayne County (theoaklandpress.com) — A man from Berkley has been sentenced in Wayne County to at least two years in prison for sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl, with more charges still pending in Oakland County. Prosecutors allege he exploited teens he met online, with another court appearance set for February and a trial scheduled for next April. Berkley residents may see this case continue unfolding in nearby courts.

• New Black Hawk Debate Teams Dominates the Competition (bloomfield.org) — A new BHHS debate team has burst onto the scene, winning first place at the Berkley High School Tournament and racking up top awards across multiple novice competitions. Student leaders describe how constant preparation, supportive coaching, and a positive team culture helped them excel. The team now heads into MIFA State Finals at Wayne State after a dominant fall season.
