Special Millage Election, Reproductive Health Materials on Board of Education Agenda

The Berkley School District board will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at the Avery Center in Oak Park.

The Berkley School District Board of Education meets at 7 p.m. Monday at the Avery Center in Oak Park.

The agenda includes the following items, among others.

  • BSD Superintendent Dennis McDavid will deliver a report on long-range curriculum planning.
  • BSD Director of Schools Chris Sandoval and Norup International School Assistant Principal Beth Meacham will give a presentation on two recommended updates to the materials used to teach the fifth-grade reproductive health class.  
  • The Board of Education will vote on a number of fiscal matters, including a plan to collect a 2013 summer property tax levy in Berkley, Huntington Woods, Oak Park and Royal Oak and a proposed special millage election to be held May 7.

There will be opportunities for citizen comments during the meeting.
