Wednesday, Christmas Eve, will stay dry with highs climbing toward the 40s until the nighttime hours when there's a chance for light snow and freezing drizzle, the weather service said.
Christmas Day across the Detroit area will stay dry with highs in the low 40s, the weather service said.

Snow and freezing rain will move into the area during the overnight hours, making for a messy Friday morning drive across the area, the weather service said.
Some areas around Detroit could see ice accumulations up to a quarter ice, while areas in the Thumb region will likely see ice accumulations between a half inch and 2 inches, the weather service said.

Highs remain near 40 degrees Saturday and Sunday with chances for rain both days, the weather service said.
Colder air moves back into the area early week as highs will stay below the 30s to start the week, the weather service said.
