Branding Plan Unveiled at Meeting
New slogan, branding presented at Monday's City Council meeting

A presentation to City Council Monday night featured the proposed makeover for Berkley, the brand, and included the new slogan, “Berkley — Where you want to be.”
According to a report in the Detroit News, Lansing-based MessageMakers presented the slogan to council and also showed how signs and information could emphasize the city’s potential by using the letter “BE” in red capitals letters.
The new branding identity would replace the “We Care,” motto that has been with the city for more than 50 years.

Council approved a $24,000 contract in June with MessageMakers to develop a brand identity that could be used on a variety of city-related items, ranging from social media to signage.
Officials are not deciding anything yet, according to the report, and are seeking out input and feedback from residents.
