Free Tools You Can Use: Announce It on Patch

Many of you receive the Berkley Patch newsletter each day or bookmark the site in your Web browser, but there are many more handy functions available to you.

One of those tools is our Announcements page, which lets you share life's milestones for free.

• Did your family recently welcome a new baby?
• Have you been promoted at work?
• Has a loved one recently passed away?
• Do you know a service member who's been deployed?
• Did you and your beloved get engaged?

The announcements tool lets you share the news with your community, much as you would on the milestones page of a traditional newspaper.

To post your own announcement, become a registered Patch user if you aren't already. You can find announcements under the News tab on the homepage; then click Announce it to everyone! in the upper right hand corner to bring up the submission form. Type the topic of your announcement in the Title field, select a category and enter your news in the Description field. If you would like add a photo, click Choose files to upload and select the image. The announcement tool also features several easy-to-use editing options.

So, please experiment with Berkley Patch announcements next time you have big news to share. Our goal is to create a real sense of community in this online gathering place, and we can't do it with you!
