Screening of Food Matters

Why go: Royal Oak-based Regeneration Raw will host a screening of the documentary , followed by a question-and-answer session with David Wolfe, one of the film's stars and an authority on raw foods. Part of the proceeds from Thursay's ticket sales will benefit the Fruit Tree Planting Foundation.

The Tempest

Boater Safety Class

Why go: Earn a boater safety certificate during this Oakland County Sheriff's Office Marine Unit class. The certificate is required for anyone who wishes to operate a power boat or personal watercraft.

Clinton Township Gratiot Cruise

Where: Cruise from 14 Mile Road to Wellington Crescent in Clinton Township
Why go: Just can't wait for the Woodward Dream Cruise on Aug. 20? Then head east this weekend for a day of family fun during the Clinton Township Gratiot Cruise. More than 150,000 cruisers are expected to hit the strip, and there will be parties, food and live entertainment.
