Men's Club Presents $68,808 Check to Huntington Woods City Commission

The group raised and donated the funds to help cover the cost of activities throughout the city, including $60,000 from the 2012 auction for tree trimming.

The Huntington Woods Men's Club presented the City Commission with a $68,808 check Tuesday night at City Hall.

Men's Club President Scott Kube delivered the oversize ceremonial check – actually made out for $68,808.11 – to Mayor Ronald Gillham. The service organization raised and donated the funds to cover the cost of a variety of activities throughout the city, including the following.

  • Tree trimming (2012 Men's Club Service Auction project): $60,000
  • Fourth of July parade: $2,408.11
  • Fourth of July and Family Fun Night: $2,250
  • Hay Day: $2,000
  • Teen Council leadership symposium trip: $1,500
  • Teen Council Public Safety vs. Men's Club game softball uniforms: $250
  • Teen Council help at the 2012 Men's Club Service Auction: $250
  • Summer concert series posters: $150

"That just reminds you of the largess of the Men's Club and the people of Huntington Woods," Gillham said.
