Preview: Berkley City Council to Consider Animal Shelter, Sale of Vehicles

A special land-use request that would allow New Beginnings Animal Rescue to establish a shelter on 11 Mile Road is on the agenda Monday night at City Hall.

The Berkley City Council will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at to consider a number of financial and policy issues, including whether to allow an animal shelter on 11 Mile Road.

During the meeting, council members will consider the following:

  • Two alternates to the Zoning Board of Appeals.
  • The sale of two used vehicles to the city of Highland Park for $8,500.
  • A special land-use request that would allow New Beginnings Animal Rescue to establish a shelter at 3060 11 Mile Rd.
  • A resolution in support of regional transportation.
  • The extension of Farmington Hills-based Michigan Joint Sealing Inc.'s contract, in an amount not to exceed $90,000, for the 2011 Joint and Crack Sealing Program.
