Resident Finds Damaged, Stolen Van

The following information was supplied by the Berkley Public Safety Department.

A resident reported at 8:24 a.m. Dec. 4 that his vehicle was stolen from a parking space in the 2880 block of Cummings.

The man said he parked and locked his gold 2000 Grand Voyager Chrysler van at 8:30 p.m. Dec. 3 and discovered it was missing the next morning, according to a Berkley Public Safety report. The man told the department he had both sets of keys to the vehicle.

Shortly after filing the report, the man contacted the department to say he had located the van in the 2840 block of Thomas, according to the report. The responding officer noted damage to the driver's door lock and the steering column and that the ignition had been broken out. The vehicle had been issued a BPS parking violation at 4:47 a.m. according to the report.

The van was towed to the Berkley Public Safety Department for further investigation, the report said. There are no known suspects.
