5 Things To Know This Week: Learn About Birmingham's Early History, Rainy Weather on the Way
Here's what you need to know about Birmingham this week.
- Planning Board to meet Wednesday: The Birmingham Planning Board will meet for a regular meeting at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at City Hall. On the agenda are plans to build a new building at 33779 Woodward Ave.
- Learn about the settlement of Birmingham Tuesday: The Birmingham Historical Museum's Leslie Pielack will discuss "The Settlement of Birmingham and the Women of the Mackinac Fur Trade" at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Baldwin Public Library. The talk will discuss the connection between the War of 1812 and Birmingham's earliest settlers.
- Family & Friends CPR Wednesday: The Birmingham Fire Department will host a Family & Friends CPR class at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Adams Street Station. The class is free.
- Celebrate Women's History Month at Cranbrook: The Cranbrook House will be offering a "Women in Art" tour at 11 a.m. Thursday at the historic home, located at 380 Lone Pine Rd. The tour is held in honor of Women's History Month. Tours are $30 per person. Reservations are required and can be made at 248-645-3149.
- Rain expected Monday: Get your umbrella ready. According to the National Weather Service, Monday's high is expected to be 53 degrees though there's a 90 percent chance of rain all day and some snow expected overnight. That's the warmest it will be all week, though Tuesday has a predicted high of 40 degrees.
