
Outdoor classrooms and gardens, recycling programs and events, and energy-saving initiatives are among the many reasons why has once again earned Michigan Green Schools status throughout the district.
This year, 27 public school districts and 26 private schools were recognized in Oakland County. Both Groves and Pierce were recognized as the Top 12 schools in Oakland County, with Groves earning the No. 2 rating in the “Top Three” category.
Michigan Green Schools offers three levels of designation: Green, Emerald and Evergreen, with Evergreen being the highest achievement. Evergreen is a difficult status to achieve, however nine out of 14 BPS district schools accomplished this level. Below is a complete list of district schools and their status:
