City Looking for Part-Time Parking Enforcement Assistant

The City of Birmingham is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Part-Time Parking Enforcement Assistant.

General Description

The Parking Enforcement Assistant will work under the supervision of the Police Department to perform a variety of duties related to the enforcement of City of Birmingham parking ordinances.

Duties will include patrolling on foot and in a vehicle, issuing parking citations, providing information and assistance to motorists and pedestrians, assisting in a variety of Police Department activities involving civilian personnel, and other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

The Parking Enforcement Assistant primarily requires outdoor work, with exposure to a variety of weather and environmental conditions, which may be extreme at times. Work schedule will include evenings and weekends.

Starting at $13.00 per hour.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must possess a high school diploma, or its equivalent. Post-secondary coursework in criminal justice, or related fields, is preferred.

A valid Michigan Driver’s License is required.

Minimum of 1 to 2 years of previous work experience involving substantial public contact is required.
