
The City of Birmingham is accepting applications for a Civil Engineering Intern to assist the Engineering Department with both office and field work for the remainder of the 2012 construction season.
Duties will include conducting inspections, measuring and surveying at work sites, preparation of reports, inter-departmental coordination with engineering related projects, and providing assistance to the department with other related duties.
At the time of application, candidates must be a Junior, Senior, or Graduate level student enrolled a in Civil Engineering, or related, program.

This internship offers a schedule of up to 40 hours per week, which may include some overtime, evenings, and Saturday hours. Compensation is $12.00 per hour to start. The duration of this internship is 6-12 months, but may be extended based upon departmental needs.
