Groves Senior Wins National Silver Medal Scholastic Art and Writing Award

senior, Liam Rush, has been awarded a National Silver Medal Scholastic Art and Writing Award from the Alliance for Young Artists and Writers for a comic art entry.

Rush’s recognition began at the regional level in January when his artwork was submitted to the prestigious art competition and displayed at the Center for Creative Studies in Detroit.

In February, he was named a Regional Gold Key winner for his comic art entry, and later, when the piece was adjudicated at the national level, named a Silver Medal award winner.

He will be celebrated with other National Medalists at a prestigious Carnegie Hall ceremony on June 1. He will also have the opportunity for his work to be showcased in reputable galleries in New York City. Rush will be graduating from Groves this year and plans to attend the College for Creative Studies in the fall.
