On the agenda for Wednesday night are two public hearings, both of which involve amending the city's zoning code.

In the first, planning board members are looking to remove dental offices and medical offices from the list of permitted uses in the 0-1 and 0-2 zones.
In the second, planning board members will add jewelry stores to the list of permitted uses in the 02, B2, B-2B, B-2C and B4 zones.

Both changes will require an official vote by the Birmingham City Commission to put them in effect.
Study Session
Planning Board members will also hold a study session, during which no official decisions are made.
First, planning board members will hear information on a zoning ordinance amendment requested by the Engineering Department. The amendment looks to adjust rear-yard setbacks where utilities are present.
And second, the board will hear an update on how the city's downtown bicycle parking plan — — will be implemented.
