Roeper Student Nominated for Indie Music Channel Awards

After being recognized as the youngest person to ever reach the No. 1 spot on 96.3 WDVD-FM's "The Radio Cafe" indie music channel poll, student and Novi resident Amanda Morgan is again nominated in four categories in the Indie Music Channel Awards.

Morgan's single "Just Wanna Know Why" was not only voted No. 1 in the state for more than a month last summer, but is also clinched her a nomination for the Best Female Pop Artist award.

Other nominations include Best Young Pop Artist for "More Like Crashing," Best Teen Female Artist for "Saturday in June" and Best Teen Song for "Ten Steps Back."

In addition to being nominated, Morgan is also slated to perform at the event. She has previously performed live on Fox 2 News and at Arts, Beats & Eats.

A Novi resident, Morgan is a senior at The Roeper School. She has been accepted to the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University, where she plans to pursue a business law degree while continuing her music career.

The Indie Music Channel awardss will be hosted at the House of Blues in Hollywood, CA on April 29.
