Birmingham Salon Does the 'Harlem Shake'

The hairdressers and clients at Birmingham's Luigi Bruni salon and spa break it down for Youtube this week.

It seems like everyone is doing the 'Harlem Shake' these days and Birmingham is no different.

The folks from Birmingham's Luigi Bruni, the salon and spa located at 706 N. Old Woodward Ave., joined the national trend earlier this week, uploading a video this Sunday of hairdressers and clients breaking it down to 'Harlem Shake' by Baauer.

A group of teenagers known as The Sunny Coast Skate from Queensland Australia, were the first to imitate the Harlem Shake, which ignited a chain reaction of Harlem Shake uploads to YouTube.  Today, a Harlem Shake search on YouTube returns more than 200,000 results.

It’s contagious and nobody appears to be immune. Harlem Shake videos have been created by the Norwegian Army, CNN's Anderson Cooper, Miami Heat and even Egyptian protesters.
