Birmingham Police Respond After Car Is 'Egged' for the Third Time This Winter

Pair had drugs, open bottle of whiskey in their car, police say
Birmingham Police arrested two 21-year-olds earlier this week after they were discovered driving around Birmingam with drugs and an open bottle of whiskey, reports state.
According to police reports, the pair were pulled over on Woodward, just south of Hazel, around 1 a.m. Tuesday for driving erratically. Police discovered THC oil — a concentred form of marijuana — drug parapheranalia and an open bottle of whiskey in the car.

The driver, from Holly, was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and for having open intoxicants in the car. The passenger, from Berkley, was arrested on the same charges.
Resident's car damaged after third 'egging'
A resident living on the 1300 block of Suffield told police that his car had been "egged" for the third time this winter. According to reports, the resident's car was parked on the street at the time of incident, which happened around 9 p.m. Saturday, March 9. There is damage to the paint on the driver's side door and the front bumper.

Grosse Pointe man: Birmingham man assaulted me at car wash
A Grosse Pointe Woods man is claiming a Birmingham man assaulted him at Jax Kar Wash last weekend. According to police reports, the 46-year-old Grosse Pointe man said he had just paid for his car wash around 10 a.m. Sunday, March 10, when the Birmingham man approached him in the garage area and shoved him to the ground. Video surveillance from the car wash confirms the incident.Â
Thieves smash car window to steal GPS unit, radio
Thieves smashed their way into a car parked in the Peabody Street Parking Garage over the weekend, taking a GPS unit and radio. According to police reports, the incident occurred sometime between 3-5 p.m. Saturday, March 9. The rear passenger window had been smashed out, reports state, the dashboard taken apart and the radio and GPS unit was stolen. There are currently no suspects or witnesses.
Police say Detroit man was driving drunk and the going the wrong way on Woodward
Police arrested two on drunk driving charges this week in Birmingham:
- A 30-year-old man from Franklin was arrested near Elm and Bowers around 2:30 a.m. Monday. Police initially pulled him over for not stopping an an intersection.
- A 31-year-old man from Detroit was arrested near Woodward and Lincoln around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday. Police say the man was driving north in the southbound lane on Woodward and upon searching his car, police also found an open bottle of alcohol.Â
