"It's something that we really emphasized this year," senior Austin Price told MIPrepZone. "Once we get that going, we're really tough to beat."Â
"We knew it was going to be a war," Country Day coach Kurt Keener told the Detroit Free Press. "There are some schools in the state that are intimidated by Country Day's tradition and aura. Flint Powers is not one of them."

This is the fourth consecutive quarterfinal win for Detroit Country Day, which has a 23-3 record this season. However they have their ghosts to face once they reach East Lansing.Â
Country Day has been defeated two years in a row during the state semifinals, both times by an old rival, Lansing Sexton. Last year, Sexton sent the Yellowjackets home with a 59-74 loss even though Country Day defeated Sexton in 2010 to take home the Class B state championship.Â
This year, however, Country Day will face Cadillac in the semifinals. If Country Day wins, they'll face the winner of Detroit Community and Wyoming Godwin Heights during the championship game on Saturday.
Tip-off for the Yellowjackets is at 6 p.m. Friday at the Breslin. To purchase tickets, visit the Breslin Center's website. A $10 ticket will give you seats for both the Class A and Class B semifinal game. Tickets to the finals are $20.
