New Multi-Concept Restaurant Opening In Oakland County Next Week

BIRMINGHAM, MI — A new multi-concept luxurious restaurant is opening in Oakland County next week.

Big Rock Italian Chophouse will open at 245 S. Eton east of Woodward in Birmingham next Tuesday. The space was once the Grand Trunk Western Railroad Birmingham Depot.

The opening comes after a two-year $13 million renovation project spearheaded by Cameron Mitchell Restaurants LLC and its investor partners Tom Celani and Dario Bergamo.

The new restaurant will feature 11,000 square feet divided into two parts: Big Rock Italian Chophouse, which will occupy 7,718 square feet and The Rock Cigar Club will take up 2,357 square feet.

The restaurant will seat roughly 360 guests, including 40 on an outdoor patio. There will also be three private dining rooms for events.

The menu will feature steaks, Italian-inspired fare, seafood, and wines, the group said. Guest can expect pasta dishes such as rigatoni Bolognese and Italian classics like chicken Parmesan and Chicken Saltimbocca.

The cigar club will offer VIP lockers that will give locker holders full access to The Rock Cigar Club and exclusive concierge services in addition to VIP events, offers and incentives.

In June, the group announced the leadership team for the restaurant, including General Manager Steve Hermiz, Executive Chef Chris Mayer and Sales and Concierge Manager Sue Simich.

Big Rock Italian Chophouse will be the group's tenth restaurant in the metro Detroit area. Other Cameron Mitchell Restaurants include, Cameron’s Steakhouse in Birmingham, Troy’s Ocean Prime, and others.

Big Rock Italian Chophouse will be open daily for dinner service. Hours are 4-9 p.m. Sunday, 4-10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 4-11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
