Nino Salvaggio Coming To Birmingham Area
Nino Salvaggio plans to open at the corner of Maple Road and Telegraph in 2018.
BIRMINGHAM, MI — One of the east side’s favorite groceries is coming to the Birmingham area. Nino Salvaggio International Marketplace plans to open next year at the corner of Maple Road and Telegraph in Bloomfield Hills. Known for its fresh produce, excellent meat selection, and its baked goods, it will be the chain’s fourth store in metropolitan Detroit.
“It took us a few years to work out a deal, but we did and we’re excited to be back on the west side,” company president Kirk Taylor said Tuesday. “We’re going to carry everything we have in our other three stores, plus a little extra to give this place its own unique vibe.”
Taylor said the company is investing more than $5 million into the store, creating around 200 new jobs. The center also includes Trader Joe’s, Planet Fitness, MB Jewelers, Pet People, Frames Unlimited, Steve’s Deli, the Maple Theater, Bagger Dave’s and other businesses.
