Zekelman Holocaust Center In Oakland County Offers Free Admission Over The Holidays
Officials with the center said they are waiving the admission fee to encourage reflection, learning and community engagement.
FARMINGTON HILLS, MI — The Zekelman Holocaust Center in Farmington Hills is offering free admission through Jan. 2.
Officials with the center said they are waiving the admission fee to encourage reflection, learning and community engagement during the holiday season, and especially after a mass shooting during a Hanukkah celebration last week in Australia.
"In the wake of the antisemitic attack in Australia, we’re again reminded how hate left unchecked can escalate to violence," Eli Mayerfeld, the center's CEO, said. "We remain committed to educating, engaging, and empowering people of all backgrounds to stand up against hatred. If the cost of admission has ever been a barrier, we hope this opportunity encourages everyone to visit."

Guests can explore the center’s redesigned core exhibition, which was completed in early 2024. The exhibition focuses on the personal experiences of Holocaust victims and survivors, many of whom went on to rebuild their lives in Michigan.
The exhibition uses immersive video testimony, archival footage and powerful artifacts to bring personal stories to the forefront and preserve these voices for generations to come.
