Police Report Vechicles Stolen, Burglarized in Birmingham

The Birmingham Police Department provided the following information.

Officers with the Birmingham Police Department are investigating multiple crimes involving vehicles reported last week.

A resident in the 1400 block of Southfield reported a 2003 Ford Explorer was stolen at about 6 a.m. on Jan. 18, reports said. The vehicle was parked in front of the house and was locked. The crime reportedly occurred sometime   between 1 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. No suspect information was available and the investigation.

Officers responded to the area of Merrill and Chester on Jan. 17 after a man reported his vehicle was burglarized, according to reports. The man told police he left his vehicle parked overnight at the Baldwin House, and noticed several items missing the following morning. Among them were his wallet, headphones, and shoes.

Officers noted no signs of damage in their report and believe it was left unlocked. There were no witnesses and no suspect information was  available. The theft reportedly occurred sometime between 8 p.m. the previous night and 7:30 a.m. that morning.
