BIRMINGHAM, MI - A popular Oakland County slider restaurant is relocating after more than 70 years, according to a news release.
Hunter House Hamburgers, located at 35075 Woodward Avenue in Birmingham, is moving roughly one mile south to 33900 Woodward, the site of the former KFC, staff said.
Staff said the last day at the original location will be Oct. 31, while construction finishes up on the new building. They will serve customers in a semi-permanent large heated tent on the lot at the new site until the new building is finished.

Cobb said the new location will bring Hunter House into a modern setting, which will provide faster service and a larger parking lot. Cobb also said the new location will keep Hunter House’s classic style, including its famous sliders.
"Hunter House has served generations of families, and we’re excited to continue that tradition," Cobb said in a news release announcing the move. "While the view of Woodward Avenue will change, everything else will remain the same — even the grill."
