Several Birmingham Meetings Cancelled, Postponed This Week
The Multi-Modal Steering Committee meeting for Wednesday is the latest to be postponed this week for the Rosh Hashanah holiday.

Â
The city of Birmingham postponed or cancelled several meetings this week, largely due to the Rosh Hashanah holiday.
The Multi-Modal Steering Committee meeting scheduled for Wednesday, September 4 at the city's DPS building was the latest to be postponed by City Manager Bob Bruner. Wednesday evening is the eve of Rosh Hashanah, a Jewish high holiday that marks the beginning of the Jewish New Year. A new day was not finalized as of Monday afternoon.
The new year is calculated on the Jewish calendar, which is lunar, meaning the holiday falls on different days virtually every year.Â
Also postponed this week:
- The Principal Shopping District's Sept. 5 meetingÂ
- The Birmingham Historical Museum Board's Sept. 5 meeting
