Summer Music, Wine, Fine Arts and More Going on This Weekend

There's plenty to do in and around Birmingham this weekend, event if you're not participating in Day on the Town.

Not a fan of Day On The Town? No problem, here are some other events to keep you busy through the weekend.

The Rugby Grille Summer Wine Series

Guests will taste “summer sippers” on the patio where they will have an opportunity to speak with Rugby Grille Manager and certified Sommelier, David Brown from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, July 25.

Summer Music in the Sanctuary

The Avanti Summer Music Fest 2013 continues at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, July 25 at the First United Methodist Church, 1589 W. Maple Rd. in Birmingham.This concert will feature DSO Musicians and an AVANTI student soloist performing great works from past to present. 

Ticket prices have been lowered to $20 with a special patron/preferred seating ticket price of $50, and can be purchased online at:http://www.avantisummermusicfest.org/festival-concerts/ or reserved by calling 313-530-5118.

Orchard Lake Fine Art Fair

Browse through artists booths, listen to live music and enjoy food and beverages at this annual event, located south of Maple and west of Orchard Lake Road, on Powers and Daly Roads. Parking is free around the site; admission is $5, or free to children 12 and under. Hours are: Friday, 5 p.m.-8 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m.-9 p.m.; Sunday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
