Menorah Lighting
The annual menorah display in Shain Park will start early this year with the first night of Chanukah on Wed. Nov. 27. The official lighting ceremony, featuring Avy Schreiber and the Pella Ensemble will take place at 5 p.m. Dec. 1, organized by the Birmingham-Bloomfield Chai Center. The Thanksgiving holiday starts early for Birmingham's students, who will attend only a half-day of classes on Tuesday from elementary to high school.
