West Bloomfield Firefighters Rescue Homeowner From Burning House
The resident was alerted by a smoke detector and was trapped in the basement.
WEST BLOOMFIELD, MI — A homeowner was saved Thursday by firefighters after getting trapped in the basement from their house fire, officials said.
West Bloomfield fire responded to the fire on the 7000 block of Sweetbriar St at 9:30 p.m. Thursday. Officials said the homeowner was trapped in the basement and was altered by a smoke alarm.
Fire officials were able to extinguish the fire and rescue the resident from the home, officials said.

The resident was transported to Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital, officials said. Their condition was not provided.
