Man Who Struck and Killed Lahser Graduate Joshua Green Sentenced to 3 Years Probation
Kevin Alexander will also have to pay $11,000 in restitution for the hit-and-run crash in downtown Northville last December.
Kevin Alexander, 43, of South Lyon, was sentenced Thursday to three years probation with his SUV, and then leaving the scene in downtown Northville.
He will also have to pay restitutionΒ in the amount of $11,050, court costs and complete 100 hours of community service, according to the Wayne County prosecutor's office.
During the first year of his probation, Alexander will go to jail on the weekends. In the second year, he will wear a tether.Β

Alexander was driving on Griswold Street in downtown Northville in December 2011 when he struck and killed Green, who was walking in the street. Green, a 2004 graduate of , died as a result of the injuries a few days later.
Alexander sped away from the scene, sparking and driver. earlier this year. In May, he pleaded no contest to the charge of failure to stop at the scene of a serious personal injury accident.

Police said Alexander told them he had been at a nearby bar with a friend and the friend became ill due to overindulgence. He said he drove his friend home and was returning to Northville when his car was struck by something on the road. He told police he thought someone had thrown something at his vehicle and he did not want to stop.
